Cats, Mites? A clean house is not enough! An important allergy requires a suitable treatment
EVERYBODY’S PROBLEM
The allergy to cats is a particularly serious form of allergy that can strike you or your dear ones, even if you are not in contact with the animal. The cat allergens are present in the saliva and diffused by the hair during cleaning.
With the loss of the hair, the allergen is very easily dispersed in the environment; it deposits on furniture and clothing and from these it is transported into other environments: school, office, a friend’s house.
The cat allergen persists for a long time, even with the most radical house cleaning and also even after the removal of the animal, with inevitable psycho-affective consequences for adults and children alike.
A careful cleaning and the pharmacological treatment, due to the aggressiveness of the allergen, are not entirely sufficient to control cat allergies: the “good” Allergist today knows that a “good” antiallergic vaccination represents, currently, the only radical treatment of this allergic form, as the World
Health Organization has also recently confirmed. For these reasons, Lofarma has realized a particular antiallergic vaccine, the smaLL (sublingual monomeric allergoid Lais Lofarma), the only sublingual allergoid that enables a “good” vaccination to all those with cat allergies.
IS YOUR HOUSE SAFE?
A small guest can also complicate the cat allergy. The house dust mite, the Dermatophagoides, a microscopic relative of the spider, is present in our houses where it lives and proliferates particularly in pillows, mattresses, furry toys, curtains, carpets and couches.
This mite is the allergen responsible for rhinitis or conjunctivitis, eczema or the worrisome crises of allergic asthma that negatively influence scholastic or work performance.
In order to have a safer house and to prevent mite allergies, it is advisable to use a mite detector kit to discover the presence of the Dermatophagoides, an acaricide foam spray for an effective environmental reclamation and anti-mite pillow and mattress covers to prevent contact with the mites.
Lofarma has realized the smaLL, (sublingual monomeric allergoid Lais Lofarma), also for mite allergies.
If you suspect to be suffering from some form of allergy, consult a good Allergist who will evaluate whether or not you are allergic through an interview to understand with what allergens you may be in contact, the execution of skinm tests and/or prick tests to verify which allergens are responsible for your disorders and a possible blood sample to perform the RAST, the laboratory test that helps to confirm the allergens to which you are probably allergic.
On the basis of the type and severity of the allergy, the Allergist will set up the therapeutic plan most suited to your case and the monitoring of your health with periodic visits to verify, for instance, the effectiveness of the mite prevention plan or the improvement of your allergy with the antiallergic vaccine.
The mite prevention products can be freely purchased in pharmacies, or ordered directly by telephone, fax or email. No prescription is necessary. The antiallergic vaccine is dictated by the
Allergist by prescription or on a special form that indicates the patient’s data and the allergen responsible for the
pathology. The request must be sent to the manufacturer that will provide for the preparation of the vaccine and the consignment directly to the patient’s home.
