Founded in 1945, Lofarma is now one of Italy’s leading companies specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic conditions. From prick tests to medicines for allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT), the company supports doctors and patients every day with solutions based on scientific research, quality and innovation.

Throughout its history, Lofarma has made a significant contribution to the evolution of allergology, developing diagnostic and therapeutic products that have supported the growth of the discipline and cemented its reputation within the national and international scientific community.

Research that leads to innovation

Research lies at the heart of Lofarma’s activities. One example is the Acarology laboratory, where the study and controlled rearing of house dust mites enable the company to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying respiratory allergies and to develop diagnostic and medicinal extracts for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASI), the result of a constant commitment to scientific research.

Through scientific expertise, advanced technologies and ongoing investment in research, Lofarma develops diagnostic and therapeutic solutions in accordance with the highest quality standards, contributing to the advancement of allergology.

A family history, a vision for the future

Lofarma’s development is closely linked to the Vaglio family, which has led the company for over seventy years with continuity, responsibility and a long-term vision. From 1952, when Tito Livio Vaglio joined the Board of Directors, through to the 1990s under the leadership of Rubens Vaglio, the company consolidated its position in the allergy sector.

Since 2022, the reins have been entrusted to Domitilla Vaglio, who is guiding Lofarma through a new phase of growth and international consolidation, with the aim of further strengthening research, innovation and dialogue with the medical and scientific community.
